Kane Williamson became New Zealand’s highest red-ball run-getter, overtaking former colleague Ross Taylor.
On Day 4 of the Wellington Test against England, Williamson accomplished this. He reached the benchmark in one delivery after resuming his overnight score of 25. Spectators and teammates applauded him.

In his 92nd Test, Williamson needed four more runs to beat Taylor, and he did so in the first over of the day. He hit James Anderson’s delivery over mid-on. The crowd applauded Williamson. Williamson acknowledged with a cool bat raise.
Williamson scored 7787 Test runs. As England asked New Zealand to follow-on, his innings helped the Kiwis gain a lead. By winning the Wellington Test, New Zealand hopes to regain some pride.
The series was tough for the right-handed batsman. He’ll get his mojo back with this accomplishment.
