A fervent football supporter, Yuvraj praised the Whitecaps’ impressive season and wished them further success.
At their home match against St. Louis CITY SC at BC Place, Vancouver Whitecaps FC gave the Canada Super 60 cricket league a hearty greeting.
Two international sporting icons, German soccer great Thomas Müller, FIFA World Cup winner and star player for Whitecaps FC, and Indian cricket legend Yuvraj Singh, a two-time World Cup winner, cancer survivor, and essential member of the Canada Super 60, exchanged special T-shirts and jerseys to commemorate the event.
“Meeting Thomas Müller and sharing our love of sports was incredibly special,” Yuvraj remarked.
In response, Müller expressed great interest in the upcoming Canada Super 60, commended Yuvraj for his outstanding accomplishments on and off the pitch, and wished him and his team the best of luck as the league gets underway.
The city of Vancouver and BC Place are further energised as they get ready to host one of the largest athletic carnivals of the season this October after this unforgettable exchange in front of a packed home crowd.
One of the most well-known football teams in Canada and a mainstay of the city’s athletic culture is Whitecaps FC. The Whitecaps, who play in Major League Soccer (MLS), are renowned for cultivating a fervent, diverse fan base in Vancouver and have often attracted sizable home crowds at BC Place. Their participation in the Canada Super 60 showcases the spirit of cooperation in sports and highlights Vancouver’s rising prominence as a major international sports destination.
From October 8–13, 2025, the first-ever Canada Super 60 will take place at Vancouver’s renowned BC Place Stadium, which will feature professional cricket for the first time. The league will demonstrate its dedication to diversity and international standards by being the first in the world to start with both men’s and women’s competitions.
