ICC Women’s World Cup 2025: Revised schedule released

The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 calendar has been updated, and one of the five locations for the eight-team competition will now be Navi Mumbai rather than Bengaluru.

A change was required due to the unavailability of Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, and the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai would host up to five fixtures, including three league matches, a semifinal, and maybe the final.

The event will still take place at the same locations—ACA Stadium in Guwahati, Holkar Stadium in Indore, ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam, and R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka—from September 30 to November 2.

The announcement of the new location pleased ICC Chairman Jay Shah, who said it was perfect for women’s cricket. According to Jay Shah:

In recent years, Navi Mumbai has become a true home for women’s cricket. An environment that uplifts the players and motivates supporters has been created by the incredible support it has received throughout international matches and the Women’s Premier League. When the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup returns to India after a 12-year absence, I have no doubt that the same intensity will characterise the key matches.

“We are at a turning point in the women’s game’s history. This World Cup has the potential to be regarded as one of the pivotal events that influenced cricket’s future, both in India and globally.

“We are happy to have a lineup of five top-notch locations that will highlight the finest of the women’s game, even though unanticipated events forced us to change the schedule and substitute a site. The scene is set, and I have no doubt that this competition will spark interest and motivate a fresh wave of supporters.

Colombo or Navi Mumbai will host the tournament’s final on November 2. Guwahati or Colombo will host the first semifinal on October 29 and Navi Mumbai will host the second semifinal on October 30.
