When he was younger, former India opener Virender Sehwag remembered how his hands would go hot following catching exercises with former India fast Yograj Singh. Sehwag disclosed that no one participating in the drill could object, and Yograj would make catches to players from close quarters.
In order to get some rest, the players eventually had to ask Yograj to concentrate on other camp members and engage them in the exercise, according to Virender Sehwag.
Don’t blame me, Paaji. However, the type of receptions he made while we were 15 yards away. Your hands turned red after you made ten or twelve catches. You couldn’t say no, though. We eventually had to let him know that there are other boys nearby and that you can also teach them catching techniques. Virender Sehwag stated on The Life Savers Show with Neha Bedi, “It is not just us.”
The renowned Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh’s father, Yograj, is renowned for his rigorous coaching methods. In order to prepare his son for the demands of playing cricket internationally, he even subjected him to rigorous practice sessions when he was younger.
Before the IPL, Virender Sehwag encourages kids to play age-group cricket.
Playing with some of the top cricket players in the world has given players an incredible opportunity to develop their talents and show off their brilliance in the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, before entering the IPL, Sehwag advised young people to participate in age-group cricket and domestic competitions like the Ranji Trophy and the Duleep Trophy.
“Playing Under-19 cricket, first-class cricket, and then the IPL is crucial. You cannot be playing only the IPL and not the others. The IPL may be your goal, but before you can compete in the IPL, you must compete in other competitions like the Under-19s, Ranji Trophy, and Duleep Trophy,” he stated.
On October 20, 2015, Virender Sehwag announced his retirement from cricket in all its forms. The former cricket player, who is now a broadcaster, scored 17,253 runs in 104 Test matches, 251 ODIs, and 19 T20Is.
