'Shubman Gill will be around long' - Ex-India coach Ravi Shastri praises Test skipper"

During the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy match versus England in the United Kingdom, Shubman Gill captivated the cricket community with his incredible skill and attitude. As the Asian powerhouses ended with a 2-2 draw against a more seasoned England team, the Punjab batsman led the Indian squad from the front.

Gill was averaging about 35 when he was named Test team captain prior to the tour. His selection was questioned by several detractors who claimed he had failed to meet his expectations as a batter in the game’s longest version. But during the series, Shubman Gill broke a number of records and finished with an incredible 754 runs at an average of 75.40 in five Test matches. After he scored the most runs in all five Test matches, he was named India’s Player of the Series.

The 25-year-old Shubman Gill will only improve with more experience, according to former India head coach Ravi Shastri. The right-handed hitter will be a fixture in Indian cricket for a very long time, according to Shastri’s prediction.

We’ve seen the kind of series he’s had here, so he’ll be around for a very long time. Shastri told Sky Sports, “I believe he’s only 25 years old, and as you know, with this exposure, he’ll get even better.”

He will be up there, he’s right up there: Shastri

According to Shastri, Shubman Gill exudes a sense of royalty and is visually appealing because to his skill as a batter.

He will be up there; he’s right up there. There’s something regal about him when you look at him, and he’s calm and very like a king. “He can play the long innings and his batting style is very easy to watch and fluid,” Shastri remarked.

During the five-match series, the raging Shubman Gill amassed four hundreds, including a career-high 269 in the second Test at Edgbaston, Birmingham.
