While leading India U-19, Ayush Mhatre scored back-to-back centuries against England U-19 in the Youth Tests.

He will lead India U-19 on another multi-format tour of Australia commencing September 21, with three one-day matches and two four-day games at Ian Healy Oval in Brisbane. In his first local maidan match as India U-19 captain, Ayush Mhatre scored 82 off 48 balls for Sainath Sports Club against Dadar Union Sporting Club in the Kanga League B Division on August 11.
