Mohammed Siraj receives grand welcome in Hyderabad after Oval heroics

Following Mohammed Siraj’s return from the recent five-Test tour of England, cricket fans flocked to the Hyderabad airport to welcome the right-arm quick. With 23 wickets in nine innings, Siraj finished the England series as the top wicket-taker. His career-high 9/190 in the last Test was crucial to India’s six-run victory at The Oval.

Mohammed Siraj was seen taking a call while being led by security guards and airport officials from the departure terminal to a waiting vehicle. It was observed that the locals were chanting Siraj’s name and waving the Indian tricolour.

The touring team’s two best players were Gill (754 runs in 10 innings) and Mohammed Siraj.

Siraj’s achievement in the most recent series is another noteworthy example of what perseverance and hard effort can accomplish, as he came from a modest family background in Hyderabad. Since then, the 31-year-old cricket player has received an overwhelming amount of congratulations on social media.

Siraj was a huge help to India, as the team captained by Shubman Gill won the series’ last match and even the series at two, effectively retaining the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.

Mohammed Siraj finished with an economy rate of 4.02 and an average of 32.43 after bowling an incredible 185.3 overs in nine innings. His unwavering willingness to sacrifice himself for the team’s needs, however, was more remarkable than his numbers.
