Akash Deep achieves his first half-century in international competition.
As he watched India’s final three wickets fall from the other end, Deep remained undefeated at zero in the first innings. At the end of Day 2, though, he was elevated to No. 4 as a nightwatchman in the second innings. At Stumps, he wasn’t out on four.
He made it apparent what he was going to do in the opening over of Day 3 when he hit Jacob Bethell for a boundary through mid-wicket.
