Priyansh Arya aims to play red-ball cricket

After having an incredible season with the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL), young player Priyansh Arya became well-known among PBKS supporters. The opening batsman, who is from Delhi, advanced up the ranks and shown his hard-hitting skills during the lucrative event. However, the batter has no intention of continuing to be stigmatised as a T20 expert.

The teenage cricket player recently talked about his hopes of joining Delhi’s team for red-ball forms so he can compete in events like the Ranji Trophy. The Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 is still his top priority right now, but the Indian domestic season is about to begin, and it appears that the left-handed batter doesn’t want to take a break.

“I’ll begin getting ready for red-ball cricket after the DPL. I mentioned last year that I wanted to play that type of cricket. I shall consult my coach, Sanjay [Bharadwaj], sir, for guidance and make the necessary preparations. NDTV Sports cited Priyansh Arya as stating, “Next season, I hope to be able to make my red ball debut and not just remain a white-ball specialist.”

Priyansh Arya remembers the IPL 2025 final defeat.

The first In the IPL 2025, Southpaw was at the top of his game as a batsman for the Punjab Kings team, amassing an incredible 475 runs from 17 games and attacking right away. He got off to a scorching start in the powerplay overs, but he did not have the best performance in the IPL final against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. PBKS came very near, but were unable to win their first league trophy. Priyansh Arya hasn’t moved on yet.

“People have begun to recognise me more since the IPL. They now request pictures and selfies whenever I go out. Being well-known today makes me feel proud and incredibly nice. It still stings to lose the IPL final, but we have to wait for the next one, and by the time we lose the final, it won’t change,” he recalled.

Priyansh Arya was a vital member of the Shreyas Iyer-led team during the previous IPL season, and the team is probably going to continue to have faith in him by adding the young player to its retention list.
