In August, Pakistan will play the West Indies in the Caribbean in three Twenty20 Internationals and an equal number of One-Day Internationals. The Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida, will host the Twenty20 Internationals. In the meanwhile, Tarouba, Trinidad’s Brian Lara Stadium will host the ODIs.
This month, Pakistan travelled to Bangladesh for a three-match Twenty20 International series with a very inexperienced squad.
But as Pakistan lost 1-2, the youths fell short of their promise. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has resorted to nostalgia against the West Indies, bringing back memories of players like Hasan Ali, Haris Rauf, and Shaheen Afridi.
Faheem Ashraf, who performed well against Bangladesh in the previous two Twenty20 Internationals, continues to keep his position. Salman Mirza, who finished as the leading wicket-taker with seven wickets at an average of 8.57 in three games, has shockingly been left out.
In the ODIs, Mohammad Rizwan will captain the team, with Salman Ali Agha serving as his deputy. Only the T20I team has included the seasoned Haris Rauf; the ODI team has not. The 50-over matches will feature the talismanic Babar Azam in action.
Abrar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Hasan Nawaz, Hussain Talat, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Haris (WK), Mohammad Nawaz, Sahibzada Farhan (WK), Saim Ayub, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Sufyan Moqim, and Salman Ali Agha (C) make up the Pakistan T20I team.
Salman Ali Agha (VC), Abdullah Shafique, Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Hasan Ali, Hasan Nawaz, Hussain Talat, Mohammad Haris (WK), Mohammad Nawaz, Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Sufyan Moqim, and Mohammad Rizwan (C) comprise the Pakistani ODI team.
