India’s T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav’s video of him and Women in Blue all-rounder Shreyanka Patil doing the ‘Aura Farming’ dance went viral. The pair dances gleefully on a moving cart, emulating a viral dance trend with millions of views on social media.
Aura Farming gained popularity when an 11-year-old Asian youngster performed it at a boat racing, attracting audiences with their enthusiastic gestures. This dance became viral on social media and was mimicked by many players. Suryakumar Yadav captioned his post, ‘Manager advised me to trend, so do it.’
Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyanka in Bengaluru rehab
After playing in the IPL 2024 and Mumbai T20 League, Suryakumar Yadav had surgery. India is playing England in a five-match Test series. Next, the team will play in the Asia Cup 2025 before a white-ball series against Australia.
Shreyanka was named in the India A squad for the Australia tour, but she failed the NCA fitness test and was dropped. Indian players want to pass the NCA fitness test and rejoin their teams. After injuring herself in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024, Shreyanka missed India’s triumphant T20I and ODI trip of England. She’s expected to target the home ODI World Cup this year.
