Litton wants better death bowling

Litton wants better death bowling

Bangladesh’s T20I captain, Litton Das, stated on Monday that his team must strengthen its death over bowling in order to get ready for the T20 World Cup, which will be held in India and Sri Lanka early next year.

Bangladesh won consecutive T20I series against Pakistan and Sri Lanka, respectively, under Litton’s captaincy. He has, however, challenged his bowling unit to get better in the final overs despite the triumph.

“We need to perform well in the final overs, even though we are bowling really well with the new ball. That’s what the team thinks. After winning the series against Pakistan on Friday, Litton stated, “Obviously, we have to bat well because when you are consistently batting well in good wickets, the bowlers have more chances to win the match.”

It’s time for the others to get better in this area before the World Cup, even if we all know how lethal Mustafizur can be in the last overs. As a squad, we will get better if it occurs.

To reduce the possibility of losing their top pacers, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, and Mustafizur Rahman, before the world tournament, Litton stated that they must stick to the rotation strategy that is in place for the pace bowlers.

“Taskin has finally made a comeback to T20 cricket. As you are all likely aware, he is more likely to sustain an injury if he continues to play,” Litton added.

“The same goes for Shoriful – he had a groin injury during the Pakistan series (at their own backyard) and then again in Kandy, and even in Dambulla he faced similar problems.”

It goes beyond that; you also need to know how many games a person can play at once. There are two or three more excellent pace bowlers besides the ones you now see in the Bangladeshi squad. Our aspirations and dreams won’t come true if we lose any of them for any cause. Every player should be given a chance, but their level of fitness also needs to be closely watched,” he stated.

Despite their patchy results, Litton trusted his middle order to do well. He did, however, add that in order to maintain the backups, they could consider other possibilities.

“I believe that (Towhid) Hridoy, the way he bats, along with Jaker (Ali) and Shamim (Patowary), they are currently Bangladesh’s best middle-order batters,” he stated. “At the same time, we need to have backups in case one of these three players gets hurt since our ambition is tied to the World Cup. We therefore keep this in mind constantly and will make every effort to get someone ready appropriately.”

After playing cricket nonstop for more than 40 days, the home series against India has been rescheduled, so Bangladeshi players are taking a holiday. They are anticipated to have a camp to get ready for the upcoming Asia Cup after they have rested.
