With two matches against the England Lions scheduled to take place concurrently with the first and second Ashes Tests later this year, Australia will have the opportunity to assess their playing depth.
In the West Test, a Cricket Australia XI will play the Lions at Lilac Hill in Perth, while in the Brisbane Test, Australia A will play the Lions at Allan Border Field.
On November 13, England will play the England Lions for three days at Lilac Hill in Perth to start preparing for the Ashes.

Australia’s home summer will start with the Ashes Tests.
In the new World Test Championship cycle, this will be Australia’s first high-profile home series in the red-ball format. They will host the Three Lions in an exciting five-match Ashes series. The opening game will take place at Perth’s Optus Stadium, with the second and third games being played in Brisbane and Adelaide, respectively. As usual, the Melbourne Cricket Ground will host the fourth Test, which will take place on Boxing Day. The New Year’s Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground will mark the end of the Ashes.
