Face reader reveals cause of Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma's divorce

After over four years of marriage, Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and dancer-influencer Dhanashree Verma formally separated in 2025. Despite the fact that both parties have made public statements, their divorce has garnered a great deal of media interest, including court appearances and fresh dating rumours.

After allegedly living apart since June 2022, the couple filed for divorce by mutual consent on February 5, 2025. Given that the couple had been apart for more than two and a half years, the Bombay High Court expedited the proceedings and waived the required six-month cooling-off period. Of the INR 4.75 crore agreed upon as alimony, Yuzvendra Chahal had already paid INR 4.35 crore. On March 20, shortly before Chahal’s IPL 2025 assignments with Punjab Kings started, the final hearing was held.

The leg spinner wore a black T-shirt that said, “Be your own sugar daddy,” when she appeared in court. On social media, the remark went viral, and many people said it was a veiled jab. However, during a recent podcast appearance, well-known face reader Ekta Desai offered her thoughts on the couple’s breakup. Desai disclosed that the couple’s breakup was caused by Yuzvendra Chahal ego.

Yuzvendra Chahal was the reason for their breakup.

They had ego conflicts, but he is not a cheater. Dhanashree has a lot of emotions. It’s visible on her eyes and nose. The tip of her nose curls and bends. Dhanashree might have been Chahal’s lucky girl if they hadn’t had so many ego conflicts. I’m stating that they will make a fantastic relationship if they get back together. There is very little chance. However, it will be excellent,” Ekta Desai stated on the podcast of supertalks.co.

Journalist Vickey Lalwani, meanwhile, offered an alternative explanation, stating that the divide was caused by disparities in lifestyle. Chahal reportedly insisted on remaining in Haryana with his parents, while Dhanashree wanted to move to Mumbai. Their divergent decisions caused serious disputes and ultimately pushed them apart.

The cricket player’s private life is still making headlines, though. Significantly, he is reported to be dating RJ Mahvash after the two were pictured together during the Champions Trophy final in Dubai and later when Mahvash was observed supporting the spinner from the stands during the IPL.

They haven’t formally acknowledged their relationship, but rumours have been stoked by their similar-looking social media posts. Both have frequently supported one another’s efforts and appeared together in advertisements. “It is also possible that Yuzvendra Chahal might be with some other girl in his life right now,” Desai stated.

RJ Mahvash famously defended herself against internet haters who said Yuzvendra Chahal was the reason behind her career. She highlighted her accomplishments since 2019 in an Instagram montage that included her collaborations with Bollywood celebrities and her participation in cricket matches, which included meetings with cricket greats like Chris Gayle and MS Dhoni. Chahal is currently playing county cricket for Northamptonshire in England.
