By exposing Cheteshwar Pujara’s twin, former Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik added some light-hearted humour to the current Test series between England and India. Karthik is part of the commentary and broadcast team for India’s five-match series in England.
On this social media account, Dinesh Karthik posted a humorous video of Pujara and his impersonator.
He asked them both if they felt they looked alike on the video, which made everyone giggle. Alex Noble, a sports writer for BBC Sport, was named by Karthik as Pujara’s “real doppelgänger.”
“I’m going to show you a cricket player and a person from a very different part of the world who look quite alike. I’ll show you everything. “This is Alex Noble,” Karthik stated in the video posted to his Instagram account. “This is Cheteshwar Pujara, an Indian cricket player who has recently become interested in broadcasting.”

Speaking of Dinesh Karthik, after the 2024 IPL season, the batsman-wicketkeeper announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. Later on, though, he changed his mind and started playing with the Paarl Royals in the SA20 division. He represented India in 60 T20Is, 94 ODIs, and 26 Test matches during his international career. He most recently served as a member of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) coaching team for the 2025 Indian Premier League.
Pujara, meanwhile, hasn’t been in the national lineup since 2023, when he last played a Test match for India. He did not make the squad for the 2024–25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia or the home series against New Zealand, but he did play in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia at The Oval.
Pujara has scored 7,195 runs at an average of 43.60 in 103 Test matches, with 19 hundreds and 35 fifties. He played for Saurashtra in the 2024–25 Ranji Trophy, amassing 402 runs at an average of 40.20 in seven games, including a double century. He now covers the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy as a member of the broadcast crew.
