A security guard who did not know India wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma refused him admission to the stadium during the recent third Test match between England and India at the storied Lord’s Cricket Ground. A fan captured the incident on camera, and it has since gone viral. Dinesh Karthik, a fellow cricket player and broadcaster, saved Jitesh, nevertheless.
Security guards stopped the 31-year-old who attempted to enter the stadium in the middle of the throng and demanded verification. He attempted to identify himself, but the guards refused to let him in. When fans started to recognise Jitesh despite his difficulties getting in, the atmosphere became more heated. Fortunately, the batsman was helped out of the pandemonium by former Indian player Dinesh Karthik, who is currently a broadcaster.
Karthik, however, published the video after it became viral, claiming that the event happened outside the commentary box rather than at the ground’s entrance. Notably, Jitesh Sharma was called to the region by the former to meet with him and other pundits. Karthik added that social media frequently presents an ambiguous image.
“These are some issues with social media that a lot face I invited Jitesh Sharma to the comm box , he had come , and I came and met him down and took him to the comm box and he met everyone there Btw this is below the media centre, not the entrance to the ground,” Karthik posted to X.

Prior to the domestic season in 2025–2026, Jitesh Sharma relocates from Vidarbha to Baroda.
Jitesh Sharma, on the other hand, was instrumental in Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) first IPL title victory earlier this year. He broke MS Dhoni’s record for the highest score by a No. 6 or lower hitter in a successful IPL chase by hitting an undefeated 85 against LSG.
Jitesh recently revealed that he would be moving from Vidarbha to Baroda for the forthcoming season. His relationship with Krunal Pandya, his RCB colleague, may have contributed to his decision to go to Baroda as he had little first-class outings for Vidarbha because of Akshay Wadkar. Since making his debut at the 2023 Asian Games, the Amrawati native has participated in nine Twenty20 Internationals for India.
