Early on the fifth day of the third Test match between India and England, Rishabh Pant was dismissed by a blazing delivery from Jofra Archer. For nine off twelve, Pant had to return to the pavilion. In India’s run-chase of 193 at Lord’s, the southpaw was the sixth wicket to be lost.
Jofra Archer, who came from around the wicket and had the ball nipped in from a length, was a complete snorter. Jofra Archer and his teammates were in complete ecstasy as the ball slammed into the top of off stump after passing the outside edge of Pant’s bat.

Notably, Jofra Archer is returning to the red-ball setup for the first time in over four years during the current Lord’s Test.
He had missed the action due to a series of elbow and back problems. Even though he only took two wickets in India’s opening innings, his accuracy and velocity were spot on.
The hosts were skittled out for 192 in their second innings, leaving India with a target of 193 to chase. Washington Sundar, who finished with outstanding figures of 4/22 in 12.1 overs, was the standout player with the ball. After going wicketless in the first innings, he made an appearance in the second. Joe Root, England’s first innings centurion, led the scoring with 40 off 96.
After losing Yashasvi Jaiswal for a seven-ball duck early in the day, the visitors lost three wickets in the final 30 minutes of play, making it a frantic conclusion to Day 4. The players that left before Stumps was called were Akash Deep (one off 11), Shubman Gill (six off nine), and Karun Nair (14 off 33).
