In the forthcoming three-match T20I series between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, Litton Das wanted to break beyond his recent slump in batting form. Following a four-ball duck in the opening ODI of the just finished 50-over series, which the hosts won 2-1, the T20I captain was benched.
Throughout his career, Litton Das has consistently tried to further his technical skills and personal qualities. He planned to overcome his recent form dip in time for the forthcoming match in the game’s shortest format. Notably, the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium will host the inaugural Twenty20 International on Thursday, July 10.
Every series and every game matters to me. I give it my all wherever I play. All I can do is that. However, there are occasionally setbacks, and the success rate hasn’t been high. This is a fact of life. Some athletes are successful one year and have trouble the following.
“It’s important to understand why that occurs, and I hope to find out and overcome it,” Litton Das said, according to ESPNcricinfo.
The Dinajpur native stated that he had been busy getting ready for the T20I series after being left out of the starting lineup for the ODI series, and he hoped to return to the ODI setup at some point in the future. He want to return to leading the Bangla Tigers and among runs.
“I was on the bench because I didn’t play well in ODI cricket. I prepared for T20Is at that period [third ODI], and I’ll attempt to apply that practice in the T20I series. I have to adapt because I’m a professional, and I think I do it well. I was given chances in the ODI format, but I was unable to take advantage of them. I’m hoping that after I play domestic cricket and make some runs, they would give me another call. I’ve been participating in Twenty20 Internationals, and I’m hoping to return,” he continued.
To end their all-format tour on a strong note, Litton and Bangladesh would like to perform significantly better in the forthcoming series. They enter this series having lost both the Test and ODI matches.
