The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have reached a consensus to postpone the August 2025 white-ball series between Bangladesh and India, which consists of three ODIs and three Twenty20 Internationals, until September 2026.
Following conversations between the two Boards, this decision was made while taking into consideration both teams’ schedule convenience and international cricketing commitments.
In September 2026, the Bangladesh Cricket Board is excited to welcome India for this highly anticipated series.
The tour’s updated schedule and dates will be revealed soon. Furthermore, none of the governing bodies has yet to provide any further information about the white-ball bilateral series that will take place prior to the crucial Asia Cup.
There are clouds over the 2025 Asia Cup.
Regarding the forthcoming Asia Cup, given the growing political tensions between their national government and Pakistan, there was a good chance that the multi-team continental competition would not take place without the participation of the Indian side. The tournament might go ahead as scheduled, but the governments of India and Pakistan might decline to play each other because to geopolitical concerns, according to numerous media sources.
India will be the favourites once more as the reigning champions of the competition, which was last played in 2023. Notably, in anticipation of the 2026 T20 World Cup, which India and Sri Lanka will host, the premier event’s next season will be played in the 20-over format. Both India and Pakistan have remained silent on the matter and are adamant about following their respective governments’ orders.
Following their successful performance at the T20 World Cup 2024, when Rohit Sharma and his team defeated South Africa in the finals to win the championship, India will be participating in their first big event ever with the Asia Cup. Suryakumar Yadav is anticipated to captain the Men in Blue for the forthcoming event in the game’s shortest format now that Rohit has retired.
