In order to assist India reach a competitive total of 181/4 in the first innings, all-rounder Amanjot Kaur thanked Jemimah Rodrigues for giving him important guidance during their 93-run partnership. In the first Twenty20 International at Nottingham, India defeated England by a resounding 97 runs thanks in large part to the combination. They maintained their winning streak into the second game, winning by a margin of 24 runs.
India recovered well from losing three fast wickets early on thanks to half-centuries from Player of the Match Amanjot and Rodrigues. Amanjot also had a big influence with the ball, dismissing England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt, which changed the course of the game and interfered with the home team’s chase. She stated that she was determined to keep making greater contributions to the nation.
“Jemimah Rodrigues deserves praise for the way she paces her innings.
I should remain on the wicket, she said. We intended to take it deep, but the wicket was slower and more moist than the one in Nottingham. Amanjot told ICC, “We wanted to get going in the 16th and 18th overs, and Richa (Ghosh) finished well too.”
In the 1950s, it is the first of many. I am being referred to as an all-around player. I would still contend, however, that I am the purest bowler and batter. I had a fairly straightforward plan (against Brunt). I intended to leave it on the bowl and stump. On this wicket, we knew 170 was a par total,” she continued.
The new-look Indian team had arrived well-prepared for the Twenty20 International series, she added. In the second game, Amanjot scored her first T20I half-century, marking a personal milestone.
“We are prepared to rule wherever we go, whether at home or away, as this is a new Indian team. We must strategise where to strike each bowler when batting as games become deeper. Every batter had a unique plan. Because T20I moves so quickly, we don’t have time to make plans on the field while the game is in progress. We came prepared, and we are aware of that,” Amanjot said.
On July 4, India will play England in the third Twenty20 International at The Oval.
