The Calcutta High Court has ordered Mohammed Shami to provide his estranged wife, Hasin Jahan, and daughter with INR 4 lakh per month in maintenance. On a plea submitted by Shami’s wife, a bench presided over by Justice Ajoy Kumar Mukherjee issued the ruling.
Shami would be required to give his wife and daughter INR 1.5 lakh and INR 2.5 lakh each month, respectively.
According to Hindustan Times, the court said in its ruling on Tuesday, July 1, that “in my considered opinion, a sum of INR 1,50,000/- per month to the petitioner no. 1 (wife) and INR 2,50,000/- to her daughter would be just fair and reasonable to ensure financial stability for both the petitioners.”
The court further announced that the Indian pacer was responsible for making additional contributions beyond the previously indicated sum for educational and other purposes.
For those who are unaware, Mohammed and his daughter were photographed shopping together in 2024 after they had not seen each other for a long time. Hasin, however, made some serious accusations regarding the meeting after the Instagram post went public.
The sole purpose is to flaunt oneself. The passport of my daughter is no longer valid. The new passport needs to be signed by Mohammed Shami. She went to see her father for that reason, but Mohammed Shami refused to sign. He accompanied her daughter to a mall. He took her to the business that Shami promotes. That store sold clothing and shoes to my daughter. If Shami purchases something there, he is not required to pay. Hasin told anandabazar.com, “My daughter wanted a guitar and a camera, but he didn’t buy her those things.”
According to the report, Hasin also claimed that Mohammed didn’t show enough concern for his daughter and that he only released a video of them together on social media because he had nothing else to share.
