New Zealand has revealed its home summer calendar, which includes five different visiting countries and 46 days of international cricket in various forms. A three-match Test series against the West Indies in December, which is a part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025–27 cycle, is the announcement’s high point.
The Black Caps will also host limited-overs series against Australia and England prior to playing the Caribbean team in all formats. Just before the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka in March 2026, New Zealand will play South Africa in a five-match Twenty20 International series.
2026 will be a busy year for the New Zealand women’s squad as they welcome South Africa and Zimbabwe, who will be visiting the country for the first time.
While expressing excitement and acknowledging the severity of the approaching summer, Kyle Jamieson stated that he anticipates participating in all three forms.
“This summer feels like a marquee. Because of the quality of the opponent, we will be put to the test frequently during the season, which is exactly what a cricket player wants. Another three-Test series at home is fantastic, and I have no doubt that the supporters will support the Test team just as they did in previous seasons. Playing in front of a home audience is always fantastic, and this summer, we hope Kiwis will turn out in force to cheer us on once more,” Jamieson stated.
Georgia Plimmer, a right-handed batter, said she was excited about the upcoming year as New Zealand gets ready for a busy summer before the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in India and Sri Lanka in late 2025. The White Ferns will play eight matches against South Africa after hosting Zimbabwe for the first time in a six-match white-ball series. Alongside the men’s team, some of these games will be doubleheaders.
“We are eager to participate in another ICC Cricket World Cup and the international season. Having a 14-game home summer to prepare for is great, and we want to play as much cricket as we can, especially in front of our home fans. Plimmer stated, “It’s fantastic to see such large crowds last season, and it’s great to see more T20I double headers because they are such a great experience for teams and fans alike.”
