India will deeply miss Mohammed Shami’s experience: Former bowling coach Paras Mhambrey

In order to minimise the strain on his body, Bumrah will not play all five of the matches in the one-and-a-half-month Test series.

India will deeply miss Mohammed Shami’s experience: Former bowling coach Paras Mhambrey

Mohammed Shami will not be available for England as they prepare for the opening Test of their five-match series. On India’s most recent tour of the United Kingdom, the ace pacer—who is currently the squad’s most experienced pacer—formed a strong tandem with Jasprit Bumrah. However, this time around, just the younger of the two has gone to lead the bowling attack.

Paras Mhambrey, the former bowling coach of India, has stated that the speed department will miss the Indian squad a lot. He added that while Shami was formerly Bumrah’s ideal bowling partner, Mohammed Siraj, who is little less experienced but still the unit’s second-most significant addition, must now be deployed.

“You must have missed Mohammed Shami experience, don’t you? Regretfully, he is not on the tour.

Three bowlers with a lot of experience were playing together before this. Bumrah, you’ve had Shami. Umesh was generally in between. Back then, we played cricket a lot. Mhambrey told Hindustan Times, “Out here, you don’t have that option.”

Mohammed Siraj is the second-best person from here. He and Bumrah must divide the workload. You shouldn’t expect Bumrah to be the only one to go out and deliver. After Bumrah, Siraj is the most senior member of the team, thus he must take on that duty and perform well. Just a few Test matches have been played by players like Prasidh and Akash Deep, respectively. Arsh [Arshdeep Singh] is making his first appearance. “You don’t want to put them under that much pressure,” he continued.

Speaking of the series, the first Test match will take place at Headingley in Leeds on June 20 and will mark the start of the tour. With the following four matches in Edgbaston (Birmingham), Lord’s (London), Manchester, and lastly at The Oval, the two red-ball heavyweights will then continue the series. It will be intriguing to see who makes it into the playing XI for the remaining games in the series, as Bumrah will only be available for three Test matches.
