For India’s forthcoming tour of England, which is set to start on June 28, left-arm spinner Radha Yadav has been selected to replace the injured Shuchi Upadhyay. The Indian women’s team will face the hosts in three ODIs and five T20Is.
After suffering a left shin injury during the pre-tour camp at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (COE) in Bengaluru, Shuchi has been declared out of the tour. Earlier this year, during the tri-series against South Africa, Sri Lanka, and India, the spinner made her ODI debut. She was called up for the England tour for the first time in her T20I career.
Shuchi was the third-highest wicket-taker at the Senior Women’s One-Day Trophy, which was played in December of last year. As Madhya Pradesh won the tournament, she was named the Player of the Tournament after taking 18 wickets at an economy rate of 3.48 and an average of 15.44.
To date, Radha Yadav has played seven ODIs and 84 T20Is for India.
She last played for India against the West Indies in December 2024, taking four wickets. She had previously taken the most wickets in the home ODI series against New Zealand.
