Will Chinnaswamy Stadium Move After the Stampede to Celebrate RCB's Victory?

A stampede during Royal Challengers Bengaluru‘s (RCB) June 4 victory party in Bengaluru, one day after the team won their first Indian Premier League (IPL) title, claimed up to 11 lives.

Many officers were suspended as a result of the consequences, and Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has since suggested that the stadium be moved to a different location to prevent similar tragedies in the future.

The Chief Minister was quoted by news agency ANI as saying, “The government will look into shifting the cricket stadium to another location.”

“No government should allow such a horrible occurrence to occur. Both the government and I have suffered personally as a result of this affair. This case has resulted in the suspension of five police officers. The political secretary of the chief minister and the head of intelligence have been replaced.

Siddaramaiah added that the events outside Chinnaswamy Stadium on that fateful day are not the administration’s fault.

Although this situation is heartbreaking, the administration did not make a mistake. There is no issue of shame for the government because those found guilty have been prosecuted,” he stated.

Due to this regrettable incident, the CM has also stated that he would not be resigning. When individuals lost their lives during the Kumbh Mela, did the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh step down? “Did the JDS and BJP then call for his resignation?” he asked.
