Prithvi Shaw charts route to national return with stunning innings in Mumbai T20 League

Shaw and Divyansh Saxena begun the innings quietly, but in the fourth over, Shaw turned things around by hitting three straight fours and a six against Parth Naik. In the very next over, Shaw maintained the assault by taking Minad Manjrekar to the fences with 26 runs off the over, including five boundaries and a six.

Unpopular In their T20 Mumbai League match against Triumph Knights MNE on June 8, India batsman and North Mumbai Panthers captain Prithvi Shaw blazed a 75 off just 34 balls at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. However, the team has already lost the competition.

On the twenty-third delivery he faced, he reached his half-century by slipping a single to mid-wicket off Shreyas Gurav on the last ball of the powerplay. Following the powerplay, the youthful player, who notably guided India to victory in the 2018 U-19 World Cup, kept attacking and was bowled off a Suryansh Shedge ball that Naik caught for 75 in the tenth over. He hit three sixes and twelve fours in his amazing knock.

The North Mumbai Panthers had already been eliminated from the tournament, despite Shaw’s spectacular performance throughout the match.

They have only won one of their four games and are at the bottom of the points standings. Triumph Knights MNE, ranked fifth and unable to advance, have also been eliminated. The Triumph Knights were the first winners of the T20 Mumbai league, which was won by the North Mumbai Panthers in 2019.

Eagle Thane Strikers, NaMo Bandra Blasters, SoBo Mumbai Falcons, and Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals are the four teams that have advanced to the semi-finals. The legendary Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai will host the semi-finals on Tuesday, June 10.
