“I want to do twice as well and lead RR to the final next season,” Vaibhav Suryavanshi said of his first IPL performance

"The key learning is that whatever I did this season, I have to do it better next time—not just better, but twice as good," Suryavanshi stated.

"I want to do twice as well and lead RR to the final next season," Vaibhav Suryavanshi said of his first IPL performance

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a batting sensation for the Rajasthan Royals (RR), captivated the cricket community during the just finished Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 after being purchased for INR 1.10 crore at the super auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, last year.

The 14-year-old lit up the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur with a century off 35 balls against the Gujarat Titans (GT). The southpaw had a couple strong knocks in the earlier games, but this innings was the high point of his campaign. The Bihar batsman finished with 252 runs with a strike rate of 206.56 and an average of 36 from seven games. Remarkably, during the event, the child hit more sixes (24) than fours (18).

But rather than revelling in his incredible first IPL season, Vaibhav Suryavanshi is focused on leading the Royals to the championship game the next year. With four wins and ten losses, the Sanju Samson-led team finished the 2025 Indian Premier League at number nine.

“The most important lesson I took away from this season is that in order for my team to go to the championships the following year, I need to perform not just better but twice as well the next time. In a video posted on the IPL website, Vaibhav Suryavanshi stated, “I will concentrate on how I can contribute as much as possible towards that goal.”

“Everyone’s dream is to play in the IPL, and this was my first season.” This first season was very beneficial to me. I’ll attempt to contribute even more to the team the following season. The cricket player from Bihar said, “I also learnt a lot, so I’ll work on the areas where I fell short this year and try to perform even better next year for the team.”

India U19 will tour England with Vaibhav Suryavanshi.

In the meantime, Vaibhav Suryavanshi and the Indian Under-19 squad will next visit England. The tour will take place between June 24 and July 23, 2025. After a 50-over warm-up, the team will play two Multi-Day matches against England U19 and a five-match Youth One-Day series.
