Robin Uthappa recently asserted that the legend is not hated by previous players. The cricket player-turned-expert asserted, however, that he has the right to hold views over the issue. Following a fan’s allegation that past cricket players were biassed against the RCB star, Uthappa made these comments.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has relied heavily on Virat Kohli in the current Indian Premier League (IPL) season. In 14 innings, he has scored 614 runs, including eight half-centuries, at an average of 55.82 and a strike rate of 146.54.
“Your statement that we are all unsuccessful ex-cricketers is amazing. I’d be curious to know what you consider to be success in life. I’ve responded to this several times. In a video posted on his YouTube page, Uthappa stated, “I don’t think any of us, including myself, hate Virat Kohli.”
We can all live in a world where we can agree to disagree with one another, and I think it’s okay that we disagree with him on some issues. “There’s nothing at all wrong with that,” he continued.
I was heartbroken following the 2009 IPL final: Robin Uthappa
Uthappa and Kohli played together at RCB for two seasons, in 2008 and 2009. RCB advanced to the 2009 finals before falling to the Deccan Chargers. After that loss, Uthappa described how devastated he was.
“I was heartbroken. For an entire week, I was frustrated; the less I say, the better. I was in complete despair following the 2009 finals. It took me a while to get over that one,” Uthappa remarked.
In the meantime, RCB has advanced to their fourth IPL final and has a fantastic chance to win their eagerly anticipated first championship. On Tuesday, June 3, in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, they will play the Punjab Kings in the summit match.
