Following Hardik Pandya’s dismissal of Inglis, PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer and Nehal Wadhera put up an incredible 84-run partnership, with Iyer scoring 48 off 29. When facing MI’s bowlers, the two gave it their best. After that, Shreyas finished undefeated with an incredible 87 off just 41 balls, adding five fours and eight sixes to his innings. With a maximum in the 19th over, he completed the chase, setting a new record for the most successful chase in IPL history against the Mumbai Indians.
Hardik was clearly devastated by the defeat, as evidenced by the cameras capturing him collapsing to his knees following the winning six. One step short of the final, the captain appeared immobile when the season concluded. Bumrah, his teammate, dragged him to his feet and urged him to shake hands as is traditional after games.
