Hayley Jensen retires from international cricket after an 11-year career.

After eleven years, New Zealand all-rounder Hayley Jensen ended her international career. The 32-year-old earned her first cap on February 22, 2014, against the West Indies at Bert Sutcliffe Oval in Lincoln. She played for the White Ferns in 35 ODIs and 53 T20Is.

The Christchurch native participated in four T20 World Cup teams, winning the most wickets for New Zealand at the 2020 tournament in Australia. He also played in the 2022 ODI World Cup at home. She played her final ODI match against Bangladesh in Hamilton on December 17, 2022. On February 13, 2023, in Paarl, she played her final Twenty20 International match against South Africa.

She was called up to the T20I team for a series against Sri Lanka in March. She was later disqualified, though, because of a hip flexor issue. In the bronze medal match at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, she scored 3/24 as New Zealand defeated England by eight wickets.

Hayley Jensen acknowledged the athletes she shared the dressing room with during her time and talked about realising her childhood dream of playing for the national team.

“I’ve wanted to be a White Fern since I was ten years old, when I returned home from my first cricket competition. I will always be grateful that I had the opportunity to live that dream. It’s been an amazing journey, full of development, difficulties, and life-changing moments, and I’ve had the best set of people to share it with,” Hayley Jensen told New Zealand Cricket (NZC).

“I know deep down that it’s time, even though it’s never easy to let go of something that has meant this much. In addition, she said, “I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together and even more proud to have been a part of the White Ferns environment.”

brought a sincere love and enthusiasm for the game at all times: Ben Sawyer, head coach of New Zealand

Hayley Jensen contributions to New Zealand were valued by coach Ben Sawyer, who emphasised the value of her all-around skills in all three areas of the game.

“I would like to thank Hayley for her contributions to the White Ferns environment and congratulate her on an amazing worldwide career. With both bat and ball on the pitch, Hayley Jensen has contributed significantly to the squad and has shown a sincere love and enthusiasm for the game. We want the best for her in the future,” Sawyer remarked.

In the upcoming days, Hayley Jensen, who concluded her international cricket career with 1,988 runs and 76 wickets, will decide whether to play domestic cricket or not.
