Aakash Chopra, a former cricket player for India, has offered the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team some insightful counsel before their match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on May 17. After losing to CSK in their last game before the IPL was suspended for a week, KKR needs to win this game.
Even though KKR still has two games to play, its chances of qualifying remain slim. However, with eight victories in 11 games, RCB is in a dominant position as they sit in second place in the points standings. The Bengaluru-based team only needs to win one more game to guarantee their postseason spot.
Aakash Chopra examined KKR’s roster and determined which players should be in the starting lineup. In light of Bengaluru’s cloudy conditions, he added, KKR will need to exercise caution when choosing their bowling lineup.
“You’ll require an additional fast bowler. Since left-arm spin works against these opposition batters, you might consider Anukul Roy, but I would advise against it. On the Chinnaswamy pitch, which has been covered for a long time and has a somewhat spongy bounce these days, there may be some assistance for fast bowlers. Therefore, get another fast bowler,” Chopra stated on his YouTube channel.
The batting order will need to be decided by KKR: Aakash Chopra
Aakash Chopra added that Rinku Singh and Andre Russell should bat higher in the order because they can make a bigger difference. According to him, KKR sometimes loses the game by the time the two enter the game.
“Determine a method for Rahane and Raghuvanshi to bat separately. To have an effect on the game, they will need to decide on the batting order and Russell and Rinku’s entry point a little early,” Aakash Chopra continued.
