In order to play in the Delhi Capitals’ final three IPL 2025 games, pacer Mustafizur Rahman has received a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Rahman is a like-for-like substitute for Mitchell Starc as the 18th league season gets back underway after being temporarily halted due to security concerns.
The BCB has given Mustafizur Rahman a notice of cancellation (NOC) for the dates of May 18–24.
This implies that, should DC qualify, the left-arm pacer will not be eligible to participate in the playoffs. The star bowler will play in Bangladesh’s debut Twenty20 International against the United Arab Emirates on May 17 before playing in the 2025 Indian Premier League.
Mustafizur Rahman ability to attend DC’s match versus GT is still uncertain. It was difficult to get Rahman’s NOC because the BCB first questioned his contract, which was then validated by DC and the IPL’s official channels.
An update on DC’s foreign players’ availability
National tensions between Bangladesh and India added to the external pressure on DC to bring Mustafizur Rahman on board. One of DC’s main pacers, Mitchell Starc, withdrew from the rest of the 2025 Indian Premier League. In June, the DC pacer will play South Africa in the WTC final.
Donovan Ferreira, who only played one game for DC, will also not be available. In addition to the other foreign players in DC’s team, the two South Africans, Faf du Plessis and Tristan Stubbs, will play the rest of the 18th IPL league stage alongside the 2020 runners-up.
Stubbs will only be available for DC’s final three league stage games, though. After the league stage is over, the right-handed batter will go to England regardless of DC’s standing in the points table because he has been picked for the WTC final versus Australia.
