On May 13, a startling incident occurred in Savalagi hamlet, which is in the Bagalkot district of Karnataka.
After a fight over a cricket ball, a 21-year-old guy viciously assaulted a teacher. During a friendly game of cricket on school grounds, the ball is said to have landed close to the home of Ramappa Pujari, a 36-year-old primary school teacher.
To get the ball back, the accused, Pavan Jadhav, went up to the teacher. However, it is said that Pujari told him that the ball had not come onto his land. An argument that began as a minor verbal altercation quickly became heated and violent.
Jadhav attacked the teacher out of rage. Incredibly, he then used a knife and a shattered bottle to attack Pujari before fleeing the scene.
The teacher sustained multiple facial injuries in the vicious attack, and he was taken right away to a private hospital for medical attention. CCTV footage of the entire incident sparked significant indignation and alarm.
Using the video, the local police quickly identified and apprehended Jadhav. In the meanwhile, the incident has sparked concern about the rise in youth aggression and the critical need to confront such behaviour early on with appropriate advice.
