In international cricket, England has some important matches coming up. Prior to these matches, the management has also added a few new members. Former New Zealand great Tim Southee, who will be joining England’s men’s squad as a Specialist Skills Consultant for a limited time, is the newest member of the coaching and management team.
Ahead of a packed international calendar, the 36-year-old legend from New Zealand has joined the team. He retired from international cricket in December. Beginning on June 20, Southee will provide his services for the one-time Test match against Zimbabwe and the subsequent five-match Test series against India.
After that, he will resume his role as a member of The Hundred Men’s team, playing for the Birmingham Phoenix in the franchise tournament. His hiring was also publicised on social media by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

Regarding Tim Southee’s international cricket career, he continues to hold the record for most wickets taken for the Black Caps. In 394 international matches, the former captain of New Zealand has claimed 776 wickets at an average of 29.57. He has participated in three World Cup finals and was instrumental in the Kiwis’ victory in the first-ever WTC championship.
He also has an amazing record in Test cricket, having played 107 games and claimed 391 wickets at an average of 30.26, including 15 five-wicket hauls and one ten-wicket haul. Only Kiwi legend Sir Richard Hadlee has taken more wickets for New Zealand in Test cricket than he has.
