Since the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) disclosed that it has not yet been asked for a no-objection certificate, Mustafizur Rahman may miss the rest of the 2025 Indian Premier League season for the Delhi Capitals (DC).
Jake Fraser-McGurk, a top-order batsman, was recently replaced by Mustafizur Rahman.
Nizamuddin Chowdhury, the BCB’s CEO, attested to the development.
According to the timetable, Mustafizur Rahman is expected to go to the United Arab Emirates alongside the Bangladeshi team. The IPL officials have not gotten in touch with us. Mustafuzur said, “I haven’t received any official communication from him either,” according to ESPNcricinfo.
For those who are unaware, Mustafizur is a member of Bangladesh’s Twenty20 International team for the forthcoming series against Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. The IPL will run concurrently with both series. Hours after being signed to replace Fraser-McGurk, Mustafizur Rahman travelled to Dubai with the other members of his national squad.
As for DC, they still have three games left in the group stage. On May 18, May 21, and May 24, the team will play the Gujarat Titans, Mumbai Indians, and Punjab Kings, in that order. They will continue to play in the playoffs if they place in the top four.
The wiry bowler played for DC during the 2022 and 2023 IPL seasons before joining the Chennai Super Kings the previous season. During his ten games, he took nine wickets at an economy rate of 9.45. The Axar Patel-led team would expect better results from Mustafizur Rahman if he makes it to the 2025 Indian Premier League.
Mustafuzur recently played for Mohammedan Sporting Club in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League. In one fewer game, he claimed five wickets while allowing runs at an economy rate of 5.32.
