According to reports, Virat Kohli has notified the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) of his intention to retire from Test cricket prior to the June 20 commencement of the five-match series against England. After assisting India in winning the T20 World Cup in Barbados last year, the 36-year-old decided to retire from Twenty20 international cricket.
The BCCI administrators are making every effort to get Kohli to change his mind about retiring. Recent reports, however, indicate that the former captain of India remains steadfast in his demand to withdraw from the game’s longest format.

In England, Kohli’s batting record is not particularly impressive. He has amassed 1,096 runs at an average of 33.21 in 17 Test matches for the European country. He has amassed two tonnes and five half-centuries, with a peak score of 149 in Birmingham in 2018.
Given that Rohit Sharma has declared his retirement from the format, Indian supporters would be eager to see Kohli participate in the Test match against England because his expertise will be vital.
