Reports: RCB is waiting for a BCCI directive to fly to Bengaluru while stranded in Lucknow.
According to reports, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) team is stranded in Lucknow. Prior to their planned IPL 2025 matchup with the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), the squad was in the city.

However, all of the remaining games, including the match between LSG and RCB, would need to be rescheduled because the 18th Indian Premier League (IPL) was postponed in the middle due to growing tensions between India and Pakistan.

To guarantee that the players and support personnel of the competing teams arrive at their destinations safely, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is arranging quick and safe arrangements. It is believed that the RCB franchise is awaiting additional directives from the board members.

This development follows the cancellation of the May 8 match between the Delhi Capitals (DC) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala after only 10.1 overs of play. It was later verified that a blackout was enforced in the area due to the escalating tensions between the neighbouring countries, while a technological malfunction was thought to be the cause of the game’s cancellation. Following that, the players and fans were instructed to leave the stadium.

As officials continue to keep an eye on the issue, the BCCI has declared that the tournament has been suspended for one week.

“The remaining IPL 2025 matches would be suspended for one week with immediate effect by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Following a thorough analysis of the situation in collaboration with pertinent authorities and stakeholders, more information about the tournament’s revised schedule and locations will be released when it’s ready,” a BCCI release said.

“The decision was taken by the IPL Governing Council after due consultation with all key stakeholders following the representations from most of the franchisees, who conveyed the concern and sentiments of their players, and also the views of the broadcaster, sponsors and fans ; while the BCCI reposes full faith in the strength and preparedness of our armed forces, the Board considered it prudent to act in the collective interest of all stakeholders,” it stated.
