Fielding specialist R Sridhar has been immediately hired by Sri Lanka Cricket. According to reports, he must collaborate with the senior women’s and men’s teams at every level. His 10-day assignment with the Sri Lankan team will start right away.

“To improve Sri Lankan cricket players’ fielding abilities, R Sridhar will lead a thorough 10-day fielding camp.
Men’s and women’s national teams, Emerging squads, Premier Club players, the National U-19 team, and the Women’s ‘A’ team will all be a part of the specialised program, which is scheduled to start on May 7, according to a press release from SLC, as reported by Cricbuzz.
For those who are unaware, throughout more than 300 international matches between 2014 and 2021, the 54-year-old Sridhar was associated with the Indian lineup. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has granted the former Indian domestic cricket player Level 3 accreditation as a coach. Additionally, he has already collaborated with a couple Indian Premier League teams.
Sridhar will begin his program with the men’s team before going on to the aforementioned groups, according to the same SLC release. He will be conducting skill-specific training, simulated match situations, and fundamental fielding drills.
The former left-arm spinner has played in 15 List A games and 35 First-Class games for Hyderabad. Following his playing career, he collaborated with renowned coaches Anil Kumble and Ravi Shastri. Former Afghanistan Cricket Board employee Sridhar will have the chance to collaborate with former Sri Lankan great Sanath Jayasuriya.
In preparation for the T20 World Cup the following year, Sri Lanka is expected to participate in a number of white-ball matches. In June, they will also take on Bangladesh in a two-game Test series. At the moment, Sri Lankan women are participating in a tri-series at home. Later this year, at the Women’s ODI World Cup, they will make their next significant evaluation.
