In a thrilling last-ball match against the CSK at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on May 3, RCB seamer Yash Dayal once again proved to be a hero for his team by maintaining composure in the final over to lead his team to a narrow victory.
Despite the presence of Shivam Dube, MS Dhoni, and a well-set Ravindra Jadeja in the over, Yash Dayal managed to defend 15 off the final six balls.
Yash Dayal has justifiably received a lot of accolades, particularly when he recovered from the Rinku Singh six fest in 2023 to make a successful return in the previous two seasons. After running into Yash Dayal at a mall the day before the RCB-CSK match, former West Indies pacer and commentator Ian Bishop publicly lauded the left armer and shared a discussion he had with him.
For this young man, I would want to share a story. He and I met at a mall yesterday. He approached me and gave me his name. I enquired about his well-being. He expressed dissatisfaction with the way his season had gone with the ball, and I told him that every analyst since that incident two years ago was rooting for him to keep doing well. In his on-air commentary, Bishop stated, “And he just took it so calmly and said, Yes, sir, yes.”
Since that occurrence two years ago, he has endured a great deal: Ian Bishop
Bishop was thrilled when Dayal, despite the presence of seasoned batsmen Dhoni, Jadeja, and Dube at the crease, successfully defended 15 off the final over, demonstrating his value once again. Notably, he eventually managed to protect the total despite giving up a six off a no-ball.
“This is a great redemption for this kid under pressure because he’s been through so much Ravi Shastri in that incident two years ago,” Bishop continued. “I’m overjoyed, and I know CSK fans don’t want to hear that.”
