Virat Kohli talked about spending 18 consecutive IPL seasons with RCB. A preview for Virat’s presence on the RCB Podcast was posted ahead of the 52nd IPL 2025 match between RCB and CSK. In it, he discussed the significance of being with the three-time finalists, even though they haven’t won a single trophy in the previous 17 years.
Virat Kohli stated in the teaser that all desires were acceptable, with the exception of being with the RCB. The top player stated that he chose to remain with RCB rather than find himself in a new setup since he considered being a part of the team to be a part of his life. The RCB batsman expressed uncertainty over how he would be received by a new team.
“Everything is fine in terms of desires, but this (being with RCB) is not. but will always be there. Alright, I thought, what do I value more today? Do I want to try to figure out life anew in a new setting? Additionally, I have no idea how the system will work or how people will treat me,” Virat Kohli stated on the podcast.
“I don’t think any silverware or any trophy can come close to that” Virat Kohli
The 36-year-old asserted that he needed to cherish his long-standing friendship and mutual respect with RCB. The affection from the supporters, according to the former RCB captain, is greater than any awards or trophies.
“So, I thought, you know what, the friendship and respect that have been built over so many years are more significant to me. “I don’t think any trophy or silverware can compare to the love I’ve received from the fans,” Kohli continued.
In the 2008 IPL auctions, RCB selected a youthful Virat. He has been the only player to play for a single team during all 18 of the league’s seasons, thus there hasn’t been any looking back since.
