The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) revealed a stellar roster of elite players, led by India’s Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, and Ajinkya Rahane, as anticipation for the highly anticipated T20 Mumbai League 2025 grows.
The third edition of the T20 Mumbai League, one of India’s top franchise-based domestic T20 competitions, will be held at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium from May 26 to June 8 following a six-year hiatus.
Sarfaraz Khan, Tushar Deshpande, Shivam Dube, Prithvi Shaw, and Shardul Thakur have joined the list of legendary players. The remarkable depth of talent in Mumbai’s cricketing pipeline is demonstrated by the fact that all eight players have played at the highest level for India.
We are honoured to introduce eight legendary athletes whose accomplishments on the national and international stages have greatly elevated Mumbai’s stature. They embody the essence, heritage, and brilliance of Mumbai cricket. As we continue to be dedicated to finding and developing the next generation of Indian cricketing stars, their presence will not only encourage and coach up-and-coming talent but also provide them with a priceless educational experience. Additionally, having these players in the league will boost its reputation and give spectators an exciting and unforgettable experience, according to MCA President Ajinkya Naik.
In order to give their lineups more star power and experience, each franchise will be permitted to choose one icon player to join them. The auction date will soon be announced by the MCA.
The T20 Mumbai League has proven to be a successful venue for up-and-coming talent in past years, giving young players a chance to compete against some of the most well-known players in the sport. Over 2800 players have registered for the forthcoming season, demonstrating the tremendous reaction.
In addition to two new teams, SoBo Mumbai Falcons (Roadway Solutions India Infra Ltd.) and Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals (Royal Edge Sports & Entertainment), the T20 Mumbai League will include eight existing teams: North Mumbai Panthers (Horizon Sports India Private Limited), ARCS Andheri (Arcs Sports & Entertainment Private Limited), Triumph Knights Mumbai North East (Transcon Triumph Knights Private Limited), Namo Bandra Blasters (Pk Sports Ventures Private Limited), Eagle Thane Strikers (Eagle Infra India Ltd.), and Aakash Tigers Mumbai Western Suburbs (World Star Premier League LLP).
