14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who recently made his IPL debut for the Rajasthan Royals (RR), has received some coaching from former India cricketer Ravi Shastri. With a six to start his IPL career, Suryavanshi became the youngest debutant in IPL history and made a grand entrance into the globe.
However, the Royals have already lost five straight tournament games, so using the young batter did not help their chances. They are now in ninth place on the points table as a result of their inability to pursue the objectives from dominant positions. The Rajasthan-based team has lost several close games and only won two of their nine games.
Ravi Shastri talked candidly about the team’s shortcomings and how the youthful Suryavanshi should take note.
Since he is so young, it is crucial that he falls and learns how to get back up on his own. If he maintains the same level of confidence throughout his career, he has a bright future and is an explosive hitter. I believe that everyone would have been in awe of his initial shot. However, since he is still young, I would advise letting him play for a while because failure is inevitable at that age. “It’s his approach to failure,” Shastri stated on ICC Review.
According to the former cricket player, the newcomer would face difficulties in the forthcoming matches as bowlers will attempt various strategies to get rid of him. In two games thus far, Suryavanshi has amassed 50 runs at an average of 25.
“New ideas will be developed by people. Numerous brief items will be tossed at him. You don’t show mercy when you hit someone’s first ball for six. Then it doesn’t matter if he’s 14 or 12 or 20 years old,” Shastri continued.
