On Sunday, April 27, Rohit Sharma and Abdul Samad will play together in the Mumbai Indians vs. Lucknow Super Giants Match 45 of the 2025 Indian Premier League at the storied Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
When the teams were out for net practice at the Wankhede prior to the exciting match, the two were spotted chatting with each other as seniors and juniors. The cricket player from Jammu & Kashmir approached the captain of India to ask for advice on how to make the game better. Despite playing for the opposition, Rohit was delighted to offer his knowledge and methods for adapting his batting to the shifting conditions.

The 2025 performance of Rohit Sharma and Samad
The 2025 tournament got off to a sedative start for the Mumbai Indians star. However, he gradually started to pick up speed, and the last two games have been absolutely outstanding for him. He scored significant half-centuries in both games, first against RCB in Mumbai and then against SRH in Hyderabad. With an outstanding strike-rate of 154.05., the 37-year-old has amassed 228 runs at an average of 32.57 thus far.
In contrast, Abdul Samad has not yet made a significant impact, but he did demonstrate some of his abilities during the match against the Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur. The 23-year-old scored 30* off of just 10 balls, including four enormous sixes towards the end of the first innings, as LSG defeated the hosts in their own home ground.
