Jamie Overton, an all-rounder for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), recently talked about MS Dhoni’s obsession in India and how supporters cheer him on as he enters the stadium to bat. Dhoni has had an incredible career in international cricket and is regarded as one of the most beloved players in the nation. He has admirers worldwide as a result.
The 43-year-old cricketer only participates in the Indian Premier League (IPL) since that he has retired from international cricket. Fans travel from all over the nation to see the experienced star hitter bat in every game. At times, the host team did not receive as much crowd support as CSK.
When MS Dhoni bats, Overton talked candidly about the mood. He added that he had never heard a roar like that on anyone’s entry in all the other sports.
“After the first home game, I sent messages to both my agent and my dad. “You have to come out and see MS walk out to the middle,” I said. You had a home crowd clamouring for someone to get run out, and [Ravindra] Jadeja was ran out. “I’ve watched a lot of sporting events, including Premier League games, and nothing compares to that noise,” Overton stated on ESPNCricinfo.
In the IPL 2025, CSK is in a do-or-die situation.
This season, the five-time IPL champs are having a difficult time. They had five consecutive losses and found it difficult to win games in the early half. They are now in a position where they could be eliminated from the competition if they lose one more game. Not even MS Dhoni’s leadership was able to help the CSK hitters see their potential and play to it.
For CSK, the next game is a game of life or death. Winning the game and surviving in the league are their goals. Only two of the eight games played have been won by the Super Kings. In order to assist the club cross the finish line, the batters will need to demonstrate far more intent than they have up to this point.
