Kieron Pollard explains how he inspired his squad before the CSK match: "I told them I'm fed up of telling Chennai well played."

The Boys in Blue and Gold chased down the target of 177 in just 15.4 overs, utterly dominating their opponents in the El-Clasico. Kieron Pollard, the batting coach for MI, discussed the team’s amazing triumph over the Yellow Army and shared one of his pregame motivational speeches. Given MI’s performance in the match, where they thrashed their opponents by nine wickets and hardly allowed them to mount a comeback, it appeared that this had succeeded.

In their most recent meeting at the Wankhede Stadium, the Mumbai Indians ended their losing trend against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and won three straight games to maintain their hopes of making it to the IPL 2025 playoffs.

Mahela (Jayawardene) offered me the chance to talk to the guys at the beginning of the game. ‘I’m tired of telling Chennai well played over the previous couple of years,’ was one of the things I said to them. Pollard was reported by India Today as saying, “The way the guys went out today—very good.”

In addition, Kieron Pollard discussed some of the game’s noteworthy performances.

Although Rohit Sharma’s game-winning knock on the day stole the show, Pollard also praised Suryakumar Yadav and discussed the significance of his position at number three for the team and how his outstanding innings significantly changed the outcome of the match.

Naturally, we wanted Suryakumar Yadav at number three. He should encounter as many balls as he can. He’s deadly, though, even on the back end. We make an effort to comprehend the resistance and the areas in which he can have the most influence. He can control the field, sweep, reverse, and dominate against Chennai because he reads spin so well’, the five-time IPL champion continued.
