Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) lost badly on their home pitch in their previous match against Punjab Kings (PBKS). Rain forced the game to be cut short to 14 overs per side, but PBKS dominated and won handily, gaining 10 points and moving up the standings.
Following their triumph, the PBKS social media team made fun of a dance move that Royal Challengers Bengaluru star Virat Kohli had previously done for a marketing campaign in an attempt to make fun of him. As they celebrated their win, PBKS supporters and cheerleaders reenacted the hook step and shared it on social media.
The roles were reversed in today’s match in Chandigarh, where PBKS is based. On their home pitch, RCB easily defeated PBKS thanks to a dominant effort.
Using the occasion, RCB’s official social media account referenced Kohli’s original performance by posting the same famous dance motion. After the sixth victory, RCB gained 10 points and rose to third place in the standings.

In an attempt to exact revenge for their previous loss, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar won the toss and chose to bowl first in the high-stakes match between RCB and Punjab Kings (PBKS).
This goal was accomplished by the RCB bowlers, who held the PBKS hitters in check and prevented them from scoring runs at will during the innings. Prabhsimran Singh was the only bright light for PBKS, scoring a scorching 33 off just 17 balls, but the remainder of the batting order was unable to build on the early success.
Suyash Sharma and Krunal Pandya spearheaded Royal Challengers Bengaluru bowling attack, taking two wickets apiece to slow PBKS’s progress. Former captain Virat Kohli responded by playing a cool knock of 73 off 54 balls, which served as the cornerstone of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru chase. Devdutt Padikkal, who hammered a fluid 61 off just 35 balls, provided him with excellent support. Their 103-run stand in 69 balls made the chase easy, as Royal Challengers Bengaluru won by seven wickets.
PBKS dropped to fourth place on the points table, while Royal Challengers Bengaluru gained two vital points and moved up to third place. Virat Kohli’s match-winning innings earned him the rightful Player of the Match award.
