Josh Hazlewood said, "We've been slow on the learnings," following RCB's third straight home loss.

On April 18, RCB lost to PBKS by five wickets, their third straight loss at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Josh Hazlewood, the bowler for the RCB, has criticised the hitters for failing to grow from their mistakes.

In a match cut short to 14 overs per side due to weather, RCB faltered to 95/9. Only Tim David was able to score some runs to spare his team from more humiliation as all of the batsmen threw away their wickets at regular intervals. He hit five boundaries and three sixes in his scorching 50 runs off just 26 balls.

Josh Hazlewood let up just 14 runs in three overs while taking three wickets. In the low-total run-chase, even Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2/26) remained composed and attempted to save RCB. The unusual Chinnaswamy wicket that ultimately resulted in his downfall for the home team was discussed by the Australian pacer.

Indeed, it doesn’t seem like a normal Chinnaswamy wicket to me. The bounce has undoubtedly always existed, but it has most likely been more steady in previous years. Yes, it’s clear that this is the third consecutive loss at home. At the post-match news conference, Josh Hazlewood stated, “It’s just that we probably haven’t applied the lessons we learnt from the first two games as well as we could have, probably in those first six to eight overs, obviously, with the score the way it was.”

The bowling definitely got better, in my opinion: Josh Hazlewood

Despite RCB’s dismal home record, Hazlewood appeared optimistic about a potential recovery in the next games, since the team has dropped to fourth place in the standings. He also gave the bowling section credit for getting better following the previous two games.

“However, we’ll delve right into this game—and, you know, possibly even more so—when we return to Bangalore and thoroughly examine everything, coming up with a few suggestions for areas where we can grow and learn. The bowling, in my opinion, has really improved from the previous two games. We’re kind of making progress, but maybe not quickly enough,” Josh Hazlewood continued.
