According to recent reports, there is a gap between head coach Rahul Dravid and skipper Sanju Samson, which suggests that things are not going well with the Rajasthan Royals management. Dravid has, however, come up to affirm that he is still friendly with Samson, the captain, and that the rumours circulating in the media are wholly untrue and unfounded.
Notably, the reports surfaced soon after RR’s defeat by the Delhi Capitals in the encounter that the visitors lost via Super Over at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. It is safe to assume, nevertheless, that everything is completely normal in the former champions’ dressing room given the head coach’s suppression of the developments. Following the game, Dravid, who has previously captained the Royals, stated as much at a press conference.
According to media reports, Rahul Dravid, the coach, and captain Sanju Samson are not on the same page. Do you want to respond to this? One of the attendees asked.
“Where these reports are coming from is unknown to me. In fact, we are in agreement. The decision-making process heavily relies on Sanju, with whom I get along well. He is an essential member of the team. Every conversation and choice we make involves him. Naturally, you take the criticism when you lose games and things don’t go your way occasionally, and you’re glad to stand up for the team,” Dravid said.
“We can consider the fact that you are not doing well or performing well. Sometimes you get what you want, and other times you don’t. We must take that lesson to heart, move on, and never stop looking to the future,” he continued.

In the meantime, Rajasthan will now play the Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2025 Match No. 36 on Saturday at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. In order to make a comeback in the current competition, Rajasthan would need to win the night match, and Samson & Co. would not want to make the same mistakes they did against the top-seeded LSG.
