Before the Test series in England, Team India will warm up against India A behind closed doors at the Beckenham ground in southeast London.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) intends to hold an intra-squad match, which is a form of practice match, for the Indian team following the current Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, according to Cricbuzz.
Although broadcasting the game to the public was discussed, it appears that the decision has been reversed. The game will now take place behind closed doors. Furthermore, before the actual series begins, this is the sole practice match that will take place. On June 13, the practice match will take place. Players will take a two-week break following the IPL before visiting England the second week of June.
Prior to the first series, the BCCI will send a Team A to play the England Lions in a two-match warm-up. The first four-day match will take place at Canterbury from May 30 to June 2, and the second one will take place at the Northamptonshire Cricket County Club (NCCC) field from June 6 to 9.
The England series squad will be revealed by the selectors during the May IPL. To play the practice games, players without any obligations will go as Team A. India and England will face off in a five-match Test series.
