On the stage of the Knights Unplugged 2.0 event, which took place at Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan on Wednesday, the KKR all-star team was introduced to their devoted supporters. This occurs prior to the team’s much awaited inaugural matchup with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2025.
Excitement was in the air ahead of the new season as more than 5,000 ardent cricket fans flocked in purple and gold to see their stars up close. The display of KKR’s three championship trophies, which bear witness to the team’s legacy, enhanced the spectacle.
In order to further immerse fans in the KKR passion as they prepared to support their team for another exciting campaign, the event also included interactive games.
Captain Ajinkya Rahane, vice captain Venkatesh Iyer, head coach Chandrakant Pandit, team mentor DJ Bravo, and KKR CEO Mr. Venky Mysore were among the important members of the team who attended the occasion and expressed their opinions in advance of the upcoming season.
The Kolkata Knight Riders’ CEO, Venky Mysore, expressed gratitude to the supporters for their unwavering support, saying, “Being a part of this franchise is truly an honor.” Seeing how much love and support we get makes me shiver. There isn’t a city like Kolkata, in my opinion; when Eden Gardens is filled with purple and gold, the team as a whole is genuinely lifted by their KKR and favorite player chants.
It’s terrific to be back with KKR and an honor to lead this wonderful franchise with its rich heritage,” said Ajinkya Rahane, who is making a comeback as captain. This year’s team is excellent. For us, it’s about keeping things simple; everyone is in agreement and we’ve been practicing a lot. We’re going to have an amazing season.
“It’s an honor to be called a key player for this franchise with such rich history and legacy,” said vice captain Venkatesh Iyer. The franchise has given me the biggest break of my life and has shown me a great deal of trust. Many people are grateful, and it is my responsibility to return the favor. I’m hoping that this voyage lasts a very long time.
“It has been an incredible three-year journey,” said head coach Chandrakant Pandit. It has always been a special moment to win the trophy. In addition to the players, the entire franchise deserves the title triumph from last year. This includes the owners, the people who work behind the scenes, and most importantly, the fans, whose support keeps our positive environment.
“We’re looking forward to this season, winning lots of games, and hopefully defending our trophy,” added Dwayne Bravo, who had joined as a mentor. Being a member of this setup is an enormous honor. Having commanded Knight Riders in Trinidad, where we had considerable success, it was an obvious choice to join when Venky sir offered the opportunity. Knight Riders has immense reputation around the world.
